Homestead and workshop for processing the ambel, Buzău County - a premiere in the ethnographic outdoor museums in România The amber is a fossil resin which, in certain conditions, becomes a stane used to obtain jewels, religious objects or a powder that is meant to cure some diseases in the traditional medicine. The Romanian amber is called rumanit. A few villages from Colţi valley are well known for the big amber stones found here by the local diggers. Many of the pieces found in the area are now part of private or public collections all over the world. In 2007, The Open Air Museum from Sibiu reconstructed The traditional homestead with an amber shop from Colţi, Buzău County. This is a unique piece for an ethnographic museum in the whole world.
