O scrisoare de la Bazil Iorgulescu

  • Subiect: A letter from Bazil Iorgulescu In this study the author brings to the light an unpublished letter discovered among the "Historical documents" of the Academy's Library. The letter was written by the professor Basile Iorgulescu from Buzău and it was sent at the last century to Ioan Bianu, the director of the Academy Library and secretary of the highest scientific forum of the country. The letter reveals the interest for history of the sender and his previous relations with the Romanian Academy and its library. After Dionisie Romano, the former bishop of Buzău, professor B. Iorgulescu was the second person from Buzău who had a significant contribution to the enrichment of the historical and documentary heritage of the Academy Library, by donating (seldom selling) documents, manuscripts and old books.
