  • Subiect: The Romanian contemporary tapestry from the last decades of the 20th century The exhibition The Romanian contemporary tapestry from the art collections of the Buzău County Museum, opened at the Parliament Palace, hall Constantin Brâncuşi, 8-30 August 2013, gave the audience the possibility to see a selection of representative works, from the richest collection of Romanian contemporary tapestry, made by famous Romanian decorative artists. As far as the visual communication is concerned, the collection of Romanian contemporary tapestry from the Buzău County Museum proposes a large range of iconic interpretations of the traditional motifs specific to the folk art. In other words, in the tapestries of many Romanian artists from this collection, one can see categories of motifs and symbols, specific to the traditional repertory of the compositions decorating the rustic wall carpets and carpets. The use of the natural textile fibers, particularly the wool and cotton, the basse-lisse and haute-lisse techniques, the geometric stylization and the simplified/synthetic expressions of artistic representations of the motifs, all these are the links between the professional decorative art and the Romanian folk art.
