Institutul Geologic al României: peste un secol de cercetare geologică românească

  • Subiect: In November 2014, in the Museum Pârvan Vasile of Barlad, was opened the exhibition "Heritage of the earth, Carol I -. Geological Institute Founder of Romania", which combined memoirs parts of the reign of Carol I and exhibitions presenting the minerals and rocks of Romania and other parts of the world. This event took place after about 110 years of activity of the Geological Institute of Romania. Economic and institutional development of Romania, especially after the conquest of independence (1877-1878) and proclamation of the Kingdom (1881), made it necessary to regulate the management of mineral resources. For this purpose, were created the Bureau of Geology (1882-1899), Department of Mining and Geology (1899-1906) and the Petroleum Commission (1901-1906), as institutions precursor Geological Institute of Romania.
