Date privind avifauna Lacului Oltina (jud. Constanţa)

  • Subiect: „The surface reeds and slopes loesside of the lake Oltina provide nesting sites and surface water and coastal extended zone, places for rest and feeding for birds. If that is not too dense reed plays an important nesting habitat for species of Anseriformes, Anatidae, Swans and Moorhens. Because of the lack of tall trees and small trees around the marsh, we do not find colonies of herons and egrets, these species are observed as solitary individuals. The existence of free surface water, microclimate warmer and wet habitat and the particular natural environment, create the conditions and the required peace for reproduction of many aquatic birds in the area. At the same time, direct connection to the Balkan Peninsula, due from the valleys springs that develop in Bulgaria, it is a real biological corridor that allows the northward penetration of many elements of which birds occupy the most important place. Generally, birds avifauna part of the study area included in the three specific biotopes types of habitats aquatic and amphibian: wetlands, riparian thickets of reeds and swamp forests. After correlating data from land and related information specialized literature of the field led to the identification of a number of 160 species of birds.”
