Câteva note istorice privitoare la Biserica Neguţătorilor

  • Subiect: Some historical notes on the Church of the Merchants The Merchants' Church - today Greci Church in Buzău - is a major historic landmark of our municipality, a trace of a cosmopolitan past, when the Greeks played a major commercial and religious role. It has passed the test of time, and generations of Greek merchants and Romanian locals entered through and prayed under its arcades. There were times when mess was in Greek, and the church was a major building of interest for the local administrative leaders. Greci Church is still a witness of a city that became a spiritual landmark when the Buzău Episcopal Seat was established here, and a commercial center at the junction of roads to Moldova and Dobrogea.
