Traseul globe-trotterului Dumitru Dan în Italia şi Vatican în 1923

  • Subiect: The route of the globe-trotter Dumitru Dan in Italy and the Vatican in 1923 This study analyzes 136 pages of documents belonging to the Buzau County Museum (104), Bucharest Museum of Sports (10) and Bacău Iulian Antonescu Museum Complex (22) containing visas/transit documents issued to Dumitru Dan, the first Romanian globe-trotter, through various towns in Italy in year 1923. The visas issued by the various institutions, authorities, societies etc. to the globe-trotter during his journey are presented in chronological order on his route of 100,000 kilometers covered by foot. According to the analyzed documents, the journey he made between September 17 and December 11, 1923, starts abruptly in the town of Barberino di Mugello and covers 103 towns and cities. These are the most important of them: Barberino di Mugello, Trieste, Treviso, Venice, Padova, Vicenza, Verona, Brescia, Milano, Torino, Spezia, Naples, Parma, Bologna, Florence, Pisa, Livorno, Rome, Vatican City, Perugia, Ancona, Ravenna, Rovigo.
