  • Subiect: It happened 100 years ago My presentation provides information from documents concerning the events in the County of Buzău and the cities of Buzău and Râmnicu Sărat occurring 100 years ago, which prove that even in the last year of occupation, that ended in November 1918, the German headquarters, officers and soldiers continued to conunit countless abusive acts. An interesting fact is that, that year, after the union of Bessarabia with Romania, rallies were organised to show the joy and enthusiasm for the great achievement, in brief solemn religious services in which the authorities and many people took part. The countless complaints spoke for themselves. They came from individuals and institutions and provided details of each situation, robbery, abuse and archive, furniture, building etc. destruction. Some of the great landowners requested expert opinions on the value of the damages, notified via courts of law, in order to be later sent to the national commission that was created for this purpose. The last part speaks briefly of the damages caused to the Buzău oil industry in an attempt to destroy oil wells, drills and installations so that they could no longer be used by the aggressors.
