Vertebratele din Ţara Făgăraşului

Subiect: As a consequence of researches during more than 30 years in the Fagaraş County, 305 vertebrate species were identified, out of which 35 fish species, 15 amphibia species, 11 reptile species, 197 bird species and 47 mammal species. A first conclusion we came up with is that compared to the Fagaraş County surface, which is 1.125 square km, that we consider relatively small, the number of vertebrates is large. This richness of species is determined by the fact that the Fagaraş County is characterized by a lot of terrestrial, aquatic and under-ground habitats.
