Raport preliminar de cercetare arheologică a sitului de la Pericei "Keller Tag"

  • Subiect: PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH FROM PERICEI, "KELLER TAG" SITE. (Summary) The archaeological research from the last decades brought to the identification of numerous sites belonging to the Neo-eneolithical Epoch. Among them, there is the Pericei settlement. Pericei is placed in an area extremely favorable for living, argument which is emphasized by the big number of discoveries (sites from Neolithic, the Coţofeni culture, Bronze Age, 1st century B.C.- 1st century A.C., the Roman Epoch, 7lh-91 h centuries); it lies on one of the main access routes connecting the plain to Transylvania. lt gave us the possibility to identify new phenomena, unknown so far for the territory of Sălaj. At first, the investigations had a salvage character, due to the existence of a sand quarry in the perimeter of the settlement; in the meantime, the number of complexes traced and localized by field research, were destroyed. The abandonment of the exploitation of the quarry provided us with enough time to develop some analysis to help clear up the stratigraphy and the density of occupancy (plate 1).
