Localizarea luptei din 10 ianuarie 1475 în istoriografia românească

  • Subiect: The victory obtained by Steven the Great the l0th January l475 against the Ottoman Turks commanded by Soliman Paşa, was mentioned very briefly in the Slavonic-Romanian Chronicles from the 15th and 16th centuries. These provide information about the date of the battle, the losses suffered by the Turks and the troffees captured by the Moldavians, indicating Vaslui as the place of the military confruntation. The little information contained by the chronicles does not allow an exact localisation of the battle in discussion. The mission of those who, throughout time, took this task was, up to a certain point, easened by the details provided by the Polish chroniclers, especially Jan Duglosz, a contemporary of the event.
