Din garnizoana militară Bârlad, la porţile Sevastopolului

  • Subiect: From the military garrison of Bârlad, to the gates of Sevastopol One of the most talented and true military memorialists of the period of the Second World War, was the general Gheorghe Berdan, a soldier of the high class, which has distinguished himself on the command line, and also on the line of conceiving the battle plans, or of the organizational actions specific to the anny. Bom on 24 November 1894 in a peasants family from the Muncelu Commune, the former Tecuci County, today Glăvăneşti, Bacău County, the young Berdan followed with great results, the scholar courses in the Podul Turcului Locality, then the "Gheorghe Roşea" High school from Bârlad. The same inclination towards the systernatic and profound study gives proof also in the Military School of Infantry from the Dealu Spirei, Bucharest, moved from Botoşani because of the Romanian entrance in The Second World War and, then later, to the Superior School of War from Bucharest. Asa fresh sub-lieutenant he participated in the battle of Mărăşeşti, after that, advanced in degree, he activated as a soldier in the Bârlad garrison and in other garrisons from Moldova and Basarabia. At the beginning of the Second World War he was already sub-lieutenant and he was carrying out the function of chief of the Mobilisation Office from The Great Major State of the Army. Between 1942 and 1944 he made his stage on the front, carrying out the function of Chief of the Operation Office of the Mountain Romanian Corp, which, under the command of the general Gheorghe Avramescu and by the German troops, he gave hard fights for the conquering of the Crimeea and, mostly, of the port-town, of vital strategic importance, Sevastopol. After the war, far from assuring him well deserved military the gratitude and honors, the victory form Sevastopol had brought to this forgotten hero discrimination, material difficulties, and a frown and suspicious supervising from the communist regime pro-soviet.
