Dumitru Bagdasar - personalitate de marcă a judeţului Vaslui

  • Subiect: Dumitru Bagdasar was a great Romanian neurosurgeon, bome at Idrici de Jos Village, Township of Roşieşti, Vaslui County, on the 1 7en of December 1893. He followed his primary school in his native village, and then he graduated the modem section, class of 1913 to "Gh. Roşea Codreanu" high school. Later he followed the courses of the Medicine Faculty at the Medical - Military Institute in Bucharest between 1913-1919. In 1922 he asserted his doctoral thesis named "Contributions to Parkinson's disease post-encephalitic syndrome". He was secondary doctor to the Neurological Service of the Military Hospital of Bucharest (1922-1926), where he completed his surgeon preparation specializing himself in neurological - surgery in Boston, where he worked almost three years. Here he published in "The American Journal of Pathology", two studies of great importance: one about "The surgical treatment of the cerebral gomes" and the other about "The Inter - cerebral Chordioblastom". Together with two American researchers, he realized tissues cultures in vitro from all the operated tumours by the American professor Harvey Cushing. Dumitru Bagdasar, died in Bucharest, on the 15 of July 1946. After his death, on 18th of October 1948, the Romanian Academy, declares him member of honor and in 1956, The Neurology Clinic of the Central Hospital receives the name of this great scientist, which will remain in the history of the Romani an medicine.
