Locul aeronauticii militare române în istoria celui de-Al Doilea Război Balcanic şi al Primului Război Mondial

  • Subiect: Military and civilian experts understood the importance of using aircraft that were either lighter or heavier than air from the very beginning. Thus, the first component of military aeronautics - aerostation - had a strictly limited weight (organisation and equipment) in the Romanian Armed Forces until the country entered the First World War. The establishment of military aviation, in 1913, its equipment with aircraft built in the country, either following own protects or under licence, the certifications of the first military pilots and the establishment of the first forms of military aeronautical education meant not only for the armed forces pilots but also for other specialists in aeronautics represented the beginning of the country air policy supported by politicians of the time such as Ion I. C. Brătianu and Take Ionescu. The First World War allowed aviation to demonstrate its viability as a weapon in intelligence, bombing, hunting and liaison missions.
