Aspecte ale vieţii culturale după Marea Unire în Bârlad şi judeţul Tutova

  • Subiect: Aspects of cultural life after the Big Union in Bârlad and Tutova county After the accomplishment of the Big Union, the culture in Tutova enters a new period of development. Education develops and becomes various in the period between the two wars. The High School "Gh. Rosea Codreanu" remains the main institution of education in Tutova. It is made with special efforts and it starts its activity again after the First World War. Every year great personalities have graduated and become national values. The media in Bârlad becomes more and more varied. In most of the cases teachers in Bârlad have played an important role in leading and initiating these publications under a special cultural climate generation after generation. Printing houses have preserved the tradition with special efforts, publishing a large range of publications from daily political newspapers to cultural magazines taking into account the readers' preferences. The cultural-scientific societies have had a great role in turning Bârlad into a cultural town, being a great moment in Bârlad's culture. The Academy in Bârlad has been the most important place of cultural manifestations. The cultural institutions have brought an important contribution to informing about our national and local values. The Library "Stroe Beloescu" starts its new activity after the First World War, as a result of insistence of the Academy and involving the leaders of the town. The museum had collections of archaeology, history, monetary and art coming from the archaeological research, in the neighbourhood from donations and acquisitions.
