Regimentul 34 Infantie „Constanţa” în luptele de pe teritoriul Cehoslovaciei (decembrie 1944-mai 1945)

  • Subiect: The 34th Infantry Regiment fought the battles on the territory of Czechoslovakia (December 1944-May 1945) At the end of December 1944, on the territory of Czechoslovakia, the commander of the 341 Infantry Regiment had been ordered to move from defence to enemy tracking. It was a difficult tactica[ execution, which entailed several risks. This activity was still continuing on December 31th, on New Year's Eve. However, most soldiers have taken the time to write home. On March 2nd 1945, the 3th Infantry Regiment was located on the western slopes of the Slovakian Metal Mountains. The conquest of the city of Zolna opened the way of the Division towards Hron and Banska Bystrica. One ordered the doubling of the telephone links between the Division and the 3th Infantry Regiment. The Division pioneers and soldiers of the transmission troops have fought alongside the infantrymen. The fighting went on continuously. People took turns to rest. The regiment that rested during the first part of the day began to march on the second part, so that it could get into action at night, either by overtaking, by occupying the entire sector of the two regiments, on the alignment achieved, or by merely replacing one regiment. It was mandatory to report the exact location on the map where the unit was at one time or another.
