  • Subiect: The novelty of the photographic images of the "Emil Racoviţă" collection reminds us that more than 100 years ago, the famous scientist took part of the Belgian expeditionary body that succeeded in 1897 by the vessel "Belgica" to reach extreme positions of Antarctica. The photographic images captured with this occasion are thus illustrating the first photo documentary expedition in the world. Fascination and high interest raised by the scientific and documentary material of this great imaging collection that is located at the "Stefan cel Mare" County Museum of Vaslui, require alternative procedures of image conservation and recovery which are today represented by digital archiving and post-processing.
