Petrolul şi derivatele sale sub ocupaţia germană (1916-1918)

  • Subiect: The twentieth century brought to the stage of history a new type of war that used motorized combat equipment. Both sides involved in World War 1 had to develop political and military strategies to ensure the fuel and raw materials that were needed for that kind of war. Romania's oil resources were very important for both sides. Romania and its allies, England and France, decided that the destruction of the oil industry would deprive the Central Powers of this important resource. The armies of the Central Powers occupied the most important oilfields in Prahova, Dâmboviţa and Buzău. After their partial destruction, the Germans were able to gain possession of significant quantities of raw materials, and they brought in specialists to repair the facilities that had been damaged.
