Un asperct mai puţin cunoscut al domniei lui Ladislau Kan. Tratatul de la Szegedin

  • Subiect: The article presents a few aspects connected to the reign of Ladislau Kan, the Voivode of Transylvania. It presents the historical background of his reign, the relations between Transylvania, Hungary and the Apostolic Palace. Most importantly, the article discusses the Treaty of Szeged (1310), concluded between the then disputed King Charles I of Hungary and Ladislau Kan, according to which the latter recognized the former’s rule of Hungary in return for the former’s recognition of Transylvania’s sovereignty and independence from Hungary.
