Documente inedite privind istoria schitului Ştioborăni şi a moşiilor din jur

  • Subiect: The village is located in the village Solesti, Vaslui county, Burghina head of the valley, the hill Stioborăni. Toponym appears to be linked to an old landlord named Stibor cel Bătrân. According to the inscription, Stioborăni hermitage church is dedicated to St. Nicholas was built in 1726 by steward Grigoras Mardare, who died in 1749. We must include Mrs. Anna intake, wife of Michael Racoviţă, to the cited foundation. Parish church was converted into a monastic sanctuary and came under the care of the monk Isaia, akin to Grigoras Mardare, who received by the testament of nun Juliana (Ilinca Mardare) the settlement. Hermitage existence is attested to in the first half of the nineteenth them. Through this study are published for the first time documents which shed light on the evolution of the hermitage and its properties, and information about the surrounding villages, some missing, others endure today.
