Fragmente textile arheologice găsite pe două paftale din secolul al XVIII-lea - studiu de caz

  • Subiect: Archaeological environment in which there were two buckles along with the textile leftover behind them, secured a microclimate characterized by moisture, leading to the formation of corrosion products, printed on the textile fragments, partially mineralizing fibers. Alteration and degradation of textile added the effect of aging, resulting in physical and chemical properties change, which eventually led to the total destruction of the belt on which there were two buckles. In an archaeological environment, when textiles get in contact with a metallic object, between the metal and textile fibers a microsystem is determined by processes of degradation and corrosion of metal fibers that interact physically and chemically. Working methods applied in the restoration of these archaeological textile fragments are reversible and their solutions are used to treat biodegradable, not affecting in time the chemical structure of the fibers.
