Biserica "Sfântul Dumitru" din Huşi

  • Subiect: The „St. Dumitru” church, located in the Bulgarian district of Huşi, is mentioned through documents from the notes made by the ministers of the time on a slavonic Molitvenic and a Psalter, printed in Iaşi in 1743. The construction of the present structure dates from 1834 to 1836, knowing some changes over time. In addition to the natural place of salvation of souls and the manifestation of christian mercy, the church of „St. Dumitru” also has a cultural role. The church's servants remarked themselves by copying manuscripts, taking care of books in the library, organizing a church school for the childrens in the slum/ neighborhood, a church choir, publishing christian-related publications, printing books, fighting for national reunification after territorial resignation from the summer of 1940 and the Bolshevik atheism taken over from the USSR.
