Bancnotele de ocupaţie emise de banca generală Română în timpul primul război mondial

  • Subiect: During World War issuing occupation money was a widespread practice. The only expense made by occupiers in exchange for raw materials and cost required was determined only by the paper, printing and management of banknotes put into circulation. The preparations necessary for the issue of occupation money for Romania are triggered on the 28th of October 1916, at the meeting of the War Ministry in Berlin. The Romanian General Bank is empowered to deal with the realization of this tender and it will put into circulation banknotes which will be covered by the deposit of Reichsbank at the rate of 80 brands to 100 lei.
