  • Subiect: The memory of time, space, events, that of personalities of the past can be preserved by objects, reunited in small or large, private or public collections. Museums were born to gather such patrimony items, to prevent them from decaying or getting lost, to make them known. Collectors and curators have worked to build up real treasures for the future, and their role within the human society is vital, as long as society shall be interested in understanding the past - or rather in understanding the present and thinking up the future, in connection with the past. The paper deals with collectors and donators who have, by their contributions, enriched the cultural heritage of Bucharest.
