  • Subiect: DOCUMENTS ABOUT AND BY IOAN BORD EA FROM THE PUBLIC RECORD OFFICE OF BRAŞOV Braşov is one of the main cultural cradles of Transylvanian civilization, a town where many books and specialty medical articles were created and published, some of them representing national priorities or even worldwide ones. The Public Record Office of Braşov is an important source for iatro-historical documents, which can help the medical researchers to obtain a panorama over Transylvanian medicine, and to get to know better the role of the Transylvanian doctors for the Romanian medicine. Our study's aim is to analyze documents about doctor Ioan Bordea's activity, as well as his studies, hosted at The Public record Office and The County Library of Braşov. Doctor Ioan Bordea, who was managing director of the Sanitary Service, was horn in Tarlungeni on August the 5ih 1871. He graduated „A. Şaguna" High school, distinguishing by publishing, between 1905 and 1922, a study of a great value: „ The Sanitary Service in Romania and Public Hygiene between 1905-1922". The book of Bordea represents a valuable document about primary medical assistance in Romania, at the beginning of the XX century.
