Obligaţiile iobăgeşti din fostul domeniu al cetăţii Cehu Silvaniei în preajma şi în timpul răscoalei lui Horea. 1780-1785. II. Dijmele iobăgeşti

  • Subiect: Serf Duties on the Former Domain of the Cehu Silvaniei Fort during the Uprising Led by Horea, II The tithe and the nona (= the tenth and, respectively, the ninth part of the products) con1tltuted in the 18th century the main aspects of the rent in kind paid by the serfs and the jelers (serfs who had no land) on the domain of the former fort at Cehul Silvaniei. Both were a heavy burden for the serfs. The two conscriptions made in 1780 and 1785 offer valuable information concerning the tithe paid to the state by 6 of the villages on this domain, to the landlord by 24 villages and the nona paid by the two of the villages. The conscription for the Bornemissa landlords in 1785 shows the amount of the tithe paid to the landlords (in kind) and the sums they got when the serfs payed it in money (especially for small animals: Iamb, kids). In some cases, there were two tithe: for the Austrian state and for the feudal landlord. The serfs paid tithe for wheat, oats, peas, maize, hemp, flax, wine, pigs, seeps, lambs, kids. beehives, straw, vinegar and haze - nuts. The two conscriptions show the end of the long process in which the tithe was gathered from the Romanian peasants as well, although the peasants in the area objected that their village were Romanian ones and, as such, exempted from taxation. The tithe changed also its features and was monopolizes by the landlords.
