Câteva consideraţii referitoare la densitatea de locuire a Depresiunii Făgăraşului în a doua epocă a fierului

  • Subiect: Some considerations about the density of settlements in Fagaras Depression in the Second Iron Age This study tries to find some of the possible explanations of the few settlements and fortresses dating from to the second Iron Age known in the Fagaras Depression. Will be analyzed by comparison method, the area in question and the one in eastern Transylvania, where their density was demonstrated. One of the explanations was obtained by overlaying maps on topography of the area with the well known “Josefine –maps”. It was marked in this way limit the deforested land in the medieval period, which we can assume that had the same status in antiquity. An argument in this regard is the actual names of some villages as well as several local place names. The presence of wetlands in the largest part of the floodplain and the first terrace Olt, until the last half century probably restricted territory that settlements were located in the studied period in the second stage height storage basin piedmont plain.
