Stalingrad (1942-1943): erori şi surprize

  • Subiect: ln May 1946, in the so-called "trial of the great national betrayal", Marshal Jon Antonescu, the leader of the Romanian State and President of the Council of Ministers in 1940-1944, has been strongly questioned by representatives of the prosecution: For what reason the Romanian troops reached Stalingrad in 1942-1943? They wanted of course to show- launching such a question- Juli culpability of the regime ''fascist", "criminal" or ''pro-Hitler" between 1940 and 1944, although their ability was one that had call ed into question since, if ordered by Antonescu forces would nat be reached in 1942-1943 to Don and the Kalmyk Steppe, in fact they had been those which would nat be found on the banks of the "People's Court ". But beyond any doubt, the Romanian troops had expanded at the mouth of the Volga whereas previously, in June-July 1940, the USSR, under the threat of recourse to force of arms, occupied historical provinces of Romania - Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina and the Herţa county.
