Marginalia pe o statuetă de Carl Milles

Subiect: The Bucharest City Museum owns a statuette signed by the famous Swedish sculptor Carl Milles, representing two girls watching a cat chase a mouse. With humor and delicacy, the sculptor renders the eternal significance of a blink: in fact, he transposes into matter an emotion representing the ingenuity of childhood and the capacity of the childish, vivid mind to get enchanted by the beauty of the world. Carl Milles 'statuette perfectly illustrates Hans Sedlmayr’s theory of the Real Time of the artistic object that operates an opening towards eternity, co-incidentally with E. A. Poe’s assertions that beauty is a sign of immortality and that „With God all is Now". This capacity of the artistic object to repair ordinary time (with its lost of the Present) by transposing the consciousness into a moment of a-temporality, is also common for spiritual practices such as myth. ritual, liturgy.
