Uniforma gradelor inferioare de jandarmi rurali din România, model 1893-1895

  • Subiect: The article describes the uniform worn by the lower ranks (privates and noncommissioned officers) of the rural gendarmerie from Romania - gendarme (equivalent to soldier), corporal (or brigadier), sergeant and sergeant major,from 1893 to 1912. ASTRA Museum began in 2014 a new cultural animation in the Open Air Museum, in which is represented the rural gendarm, a character of state and of the village, to complete the implementation of the concept of "living museum ". In this historical reconstruction has been carried out an exact copy of the first model of rural Romania gendarmerie uniform, rank of sergeant, based on research archives, military regulations, albums, postcards, vintage photographs. Such uniforms are not original in any museum in Romania. Through this cultural animation is complete the image of the Romanian village past, integrates the ethnography in the historical context and puts into practice the result of scientific research to the public that is visiting the museum.
