Consolidare şi restaurare la Spitalul Militar Iaşi - Pavilion A

  • Subiect: Consolidation and restoration at the Military Hospital - Building A The Military Hospital of Iaşi, situated on 6, General Berthelot Str., had the first quarters in a privately-owned building named "The House of the Chief Guardian ", near the Barnovschi Church, located in an area back then referred to as the Beilicului Outskirts. The current quarters were built in order to serve as a hospital. The works started in 1878, following the Independence War, and were finalized in 1883. There were carried out the following consolidation works: replacement of the wooden floors with reinforced concrete floors, the roof structure was made of wooden framings to which the elements of the floors and ceiling were attached, the roof was revised according to the fire resistance conditions of the building, there were remade the interior ornaments on the walls, the double plated doors were lined with plywood , the outer walls at the attic level were thermally isolated using mineral wool plates of 15 cm thickness, the interior windows and the exterior ones were replaced, using wooden frames and aluminum ones, respectively, there were replaced the interior doors with double plated doors made of pine wood with transom windows with ornamental brownish colored glass, there were finalized the walls of the salons with washable limewash layer of orange-yellow etc. The consolidation restoration works were carried out over a very long period due to the lack of funds, being finalized in 2008.
