Moştenirea baronului Brukenthal

  • Subiect: The most important art collector in 18th century Transylvania was Samuel von Brukenthal (1721-1803). He amassed during his lifetime a valuable collection of European paintings and prints installed on the second floor of his residence in Sibiu (Hermannstadt), known as the first Art Gallery opened for the public since 1790. These collections have interested scholars so far, but now is time to take into consideration the relationship established by Baron Brukenthal with the contemporary artists.
