Patrimoniul tehnic naval naţional. Din avatarurile navei de tezaur Republica

  • Subiect: The Naval Technical Patrimony. From the National Heritage Republica paddle-steam boat avatars For four years already, the Romanian National Heritage is richer with the second ship from his ”collection”, the paddle-steam boat Republica (The Republic). Build in 1903 at Linz Shipyard (Austria) and took by Romania in 1918, in recoup for war from Austro- Hungarian state, the ship has a very disastrous situation provoked by the absence of money for her restoration, and this situation has been perpetuated many years. At the 100 anniversary of Republica, after she was modernized on the suprastructure in condition which never chalk up by the original elements but with the genuine engine kept in perfect condition by the petty-officers and the officers of the Romanian Navy, the ship was ceded, in 2003, to the Local Council of Tulcea. One first very important step was made hardly between October 2011 and May 2012, when a restoration project was elected by the Transport and Infrastructure Ministry and this structure give almost half a million euro from Republica rehabilitation. So, it was possible to replace the hull with a new one, approved even by the Romanian Naval Authority. Of course, now is necessary another project. Once the sink danger eliminated, we put the problem to restore the supra-structure and the under-deck cabins. The intention of the owners is to transform the paddle-steam bout in passenger and museum-ship, capable to boating on Danube in tourist scope, first one from Romania.
