Potopul lui Noe – primul film sonor proiectat la Braşov

  • Subiect: Noah's ark – the first sound track designed in Braşov This study presents several aspects regarding the introduction of movies with sound in Brasov, through programs and articles published in local press as well as documents and Astra society reports. The first movie with sound projected in Brasov was Noah's Ark, in February 1930, at Astra cinema. In April 1930, the following month, the competitor cinema Modern begun to present movies with sound, the first one being Rio Rita. In the first year the income provided by movies with sound didn’t reach the expectations, but it was higher at Modern cinema due to a superior projection machine made by Western - Electric, unlike those from cinema Astra – made by Biophone.
