Informaţii din arhivele bihorene referitoare la situatia şcolii românesti din Bihor la începutul secolului al XX-lea

  • Subiect: Romanians of the Bihor country were sabject to a strong process of denationalization, as well as their compatriotes from all over Transylvania. This process grew excessively violentstarting with first years of the 20th century and it consisted of a policy of magyarisation promoted by the Hungarian auth orities against all other nationalities. Romanian schools were pre-eminently affected, in an obvious tendency to diminish their autonomy that had been accepted by the Hungarian State, and to transform them into Magyar schools. But this policy gave no result since Romanians succeded in preserving their languege, national being and conscience unaltered, as well as their centuries-old aspiration for unity, which was finally fulfilled by the Great Union of December, the 1st, 1918.
