Vizita cotelui Marsigli la Câmpulung - "Jidova" datare, context, semnificaţii

  • Subiect: The Visit of the Count Marsigli to Câmpulung- ”Jidova”. Dating, Context, Significances The first archaeological pieces of information about the Stone Roman Camp from Câmpulung-”Jidova” were published by count Luigi Ferdinando de Marsigli (Fig. 1) in 1726, in the second volume of his impressive work Danubius PannonicoMysicus (Fig. 2). The documentation and the gathering of information in the field are much older. The present paper clarifies some problems in this regard. The author concludes that Marsigli visited the Roman ruins from ”Jidova” in 1689, when Câmpulung was occupied by the army of the Habsburg Empire, during the Austrian Turkish war from 1683-1699.
