Informaţii noi privind tezaurul descoperit la Deduleşti, judeţul Buzău (secolele XV-XVII)

  • Subiect: Being informed on some medieval coins held in the “treasury” of the church of Deduleşti, Buzău County, we have examined them, with the support of the priest, who stated that he received them from an old lady in the village at the beginning of the 21st century. It turned out that there are five denarii issued by Ferdinand I (1526-1564) and Rudolf II (1576-1608) as kings of Hungary. With a big possibility to be a part of the hoard discovered in Deduleşti, Buzău County (15th-17th centuries), these new denarii do not have a particular impact on the known structure of the hoard discovered in 1988. The presence among the denarii issued by Ferdinand I of a monetary type different from the typology of the 417 denarii published is the only novel aspect, but this cannot be an unusual or unprecedented fact.
