Două vase gumeniţene de tip Askos din colecţia Muzeului Judeţean Argeş

  • Subiect: Two Askos Type Gumelniţa Vessels from the Collection of the Argeş County Museum The Askos type vessels were discovered in the archaeological diggings from two tell settlements in the South of the Argeş County: Teiu and Ziduri. Both the settlements belong to the Gumelniţa B1 Phase and they are spatially placed at the northern border of the Gumelniţa Culture. The two vessels are of great importance especially because of the rare presence of the Askos pottery in the North side of the Gumelniţa sites. Their documentary value is differently sustained. The fact that the context, i.e. a surface dwelling, which the piece from Ziduri belongs to represents an advantage. Because the discoveries from Teiu are extremely fragmental and little known the piece found in this tell becomes very important.
