  • Subiect: „The European reunion of the citizens „in the name of the bread" in Savigliano {ltaly), on 23-26 September 2005, was an occasion for the meeting of many experts in ethnography, bakers, artists, journalists and young from 9 European countries and 8 Italian regions, to discuss and to see bread as a metaphor for the European politics and also the importance of local traditions in the global future. Each country delegation was meant to assure a scientific, artistic and demonstrative participation, during the workshops, in which the main discussion theme was the bread and its symbolism, traditional music and dance shows, a custom of field blessing and a practicai demonstration with bread shapes. The Romanian delegation has presented as a representative bread - the knot-shaped bread, present in all the rituals and ceremonies related to the customs across the year and those related to the human life circle.”
