Subiect: A distinguished life
Considered, at his death, to be the fast lord of Râmnic, Menelas Chircu was one of the greatest cultural promoters of the city of Râmnic, a true Mecena of the arts and of folklore, initiator and leader of the Society for Romanian song and dance "Chindia", characterized by those who knew him as loving to the point of zealotry all that which was Romanian, which reawakened aur Romanian customs - the national costumes, songs and dances.
