  • Subiect: A BIBLE IN THE SYRIAC (OLD SYRIAN) LANGUAGE PUBLISHED IN HOLLAND IN 1717 The author is dealing with the thirteenth edition of a Syriac Bible edited in Holland in the year 1717, a Bible which belongs to the Brukenthal Library. The Holy Script has a bilingual text, in Syriac and in Latin, and thanks to this particularity, the author is dealing with some aspects of the Syriac language, as well as with different issues of the Syriac spirituality. The role of this Bible is less important for an active religious life or for the cult itself, it is important from the academic point of view, in other words, for those scholars involved in the study of Syriac language of the sacred texts.
