  • Subiect: Iuliu Maniu was one of the greatest political personality from Romania. Since 1918, December 2 he was the chairman of the Directing Council of Transylvania (1918-1920). Since 1918, year marked by the grandiose day of December 1-st, when the National Assembly from Alba Iulia took place and until 1926, Iuliu Maniu was chairman of the National Romanian Party, and between 1926-1933 and 1937-1947 chairman of the National Peasant Party. Iuliu Maniu visited Satu Mare and Carei in 1919, April 26-27, when local authorities pledged loyalty to the Romanian state. Also, in 1919, May 25, he was in Carei town, with the occasion of king Ferdinand and Queen Maria's visit and, in 1936, October 4. to County Congress of N ational Peasant Party, in Satu Mare town.
