  • Subiect: Monetary Discoveries in Oltenia During Brâncoveanu’s Times & the Monetary Types of the Respective Period The author presents all the monetary types that circulated in Ţara Românească during the reign of the Martir Saint Constantin Brâncoveanu conformable to the bi-metalist system, i.e. gold & silver. The following golden coins circulated in that period (their names depended on the place where they came from): altân, ducat, florin, galben, ţechin, ughi. There were three categories of silver coins: 1. Nominal big (caragros, gulden, kuruş, leu, piastru, stâlpar, taler, zolta). 2. Nominal medium (beşlic, groşiţa, şustac, triplu groş, tultul, yarim zolta, yirmilik, 15 & 6 creiţari). 3. Nominal small (aspru, ban, creiţar, dinar, duarius, gros, para, poltura and a three creiţari coin). The author also presents the relation between the various types of coins, as well as the two issues of gold & silver of Constantin Brâncoveanu.
