Operaţiunile ofensive, pe direcţia generală Braşov, ale detaşamentul de acoperire „Bran"

  • Subiect: Offensive Operations of „Bran” Covering Detachment in Brasov The covering detachment „Bran”, following up a received orders, took the required actions to put them into practice. To assure the surprise of the offensive operation, the forces of the Detachment, made of three lines of attack, executed an approachment march near the Austro-Hungarian border. These forces were, at that time, most from Brigade 6 Infantry, structured in nine battalions of infantry and five troops of artillery, summing 9.000 soldiers. After they prepared to attack, the three lines started at 8 p.m. the offensive movement and passed the Romanian border at 9 p.m. in the evening of 14th August 1916 towards Brasov. The Austro-Hungarian defense, surprised by the attack, drew back in disorder.
