Restaurarea cărţii „Uşa pocăinţei”, Braşov, 1812

  • Subiect: The Restoration of The Book Uşa Pocăinţei (The Door of Repentance), Braşov, 1812 The Door of Repentance printed in Brasov in 1812 is reserved for the religious cult of the Romanian Orthodox churches from Transylvania, not a luxury object, and the ornaments of the text are reduced to vignette and initials, plus the typographic border of the title page. In the composition of the vignettes, made by the lithographic technique, appear alongside the usual typographical symbols and images. In this copy, the skin (present only at the spine and at the four corners) has printed in sec floral elements framed by the borders. Spine has three straight profiled ribs. The title page is framed in a typographic layout. The image on the title-back tab shows two superimposed registers with Face-to-Face and Last Supper. At the center of each registry there is a fleur, obtained by blind printing, hot. The paper used as writing aid is manual, having a fiber textile composition. The paper's PH is 5.5. The sizing agent used was gelatin and the paper was poorly cured, as shown in the analysis bulletin. The ink used for writing is insoluble in water and 90% ethyl alcohol (aqueous solution). The volume has several manuscript scriptures with Cyrillic Alphabet.
