Tăul Lostun din Munţii Maramureşului, Carpaţii Orientali, România

  • Subiect: ABSTRACT: LOSTUN LAKE FROM THE MARAMUREŞ MOUNTAINS, EASTERN CARPATHIANS, ROMANIA. The Lostun Lake (The Round Lake) is situated in a clearing near the Lostun peak (1641m) from the Maramureş Mountains, on the territory of the Maramureş Mountains Natural Park. The lake is of periglacial origin. lt bas an area of 0.1 ha and has an oval shape, with a length of 35 m and a width of 27 m. From the total area of 1000 m2 (0,1 ha), 790 m2 (0,079 ha) represents the meso-oligotrophic marsh and 210 m2 (0.021 ha) represents the water luster. The researched area is a mezo-oligotrophic peat bog, on which there is Carex rostrata Stokes and peat moss (Sphagnum sp.), and at the edges are spurts (Juncus effusus L.) and some small specimens of Salix aurita L.
