Modelul identitar românesc în publicistica interbelică a lui Mircea Eliade

  • Subiect: The object of this study represents the underlining of Romanian identity in the interwar period in Mircea Eliade writings. Mircea Eliade was a remarkable personality in the universal culture of the 20th century. A disputed aspect of his activity is the adhering to the ideology of the Legion Movement. This fact has been materialized in more articles that were published in different newspapers; among them is the newspaper of the Movement "Buna Vestire". He was involved in the electoral campaign in December, 1937. A constant preoccupation of the 1927 generation is in representing the historical mission of Romania, the destiny of the Romanian nation in the context of the European states. According to this idea Mircea Eliade formulates judgement of values that are focused on the idea of acknowledging Romania and Romanian people in the world. Outrunning the cultural provincialism, the importance of the spiritual factor in the restoration of the Romanian values that governed Romania during the interwar period and estimates the failure of the political western type. As a conclusion, Mircea Eliade succeeded in revealing the intimacy of Romanian, showing in the same time its qualities and defects, all this being mixed in the obsessive idea of stimulating an original cultural creation.
