Armata ardeleană, parte componentă a armatei române, în apărarea Marii Uniri

  • Subiect: To the 1919 Romanian Army's campaign took part too not only large units but also small units of Transylvania, employed in the battle disposition of the Romanian Army. As a consequence of the measures taken by the Transylvanian Government and in high agreement with the government in Bucharest, six new divisions were made up of Transylvanian inhabitants except the Hungarians. Among them four took part in the 1919 military campaign, two of them - the 16th and 18th divisions - being committed throughout its duration, although in the official papers dealing with the Romanian Army's 1919 campaign their military operations are only scantily mentioned, not thoroughly developed. Therefore, during the offensive in April, the 16th Division of Infantry and small units of the 18th Division of Infantry, initially deployed in the second echelons or as a reserve, were introduced in the main combat echelons towards the end of the month, fighting down to the Tisza. The "Beiuş" Regiment of volunteers took part in the whole offensive operations, its battalion being deployed only in the main combat echelons.
