O locuinţă Coţofeni de la Gârla Mare, jud. Mehedinţi

  • Subiect: The field research and the observations of the Danube river bank, between Km 836 and Km 840, allowed the recovery of ceramic material from a dwelling belonging to the Coţofeni culture. After determining the types of the broken pots founded in these dwelling, the authors affirm that a lid (pl. II/4) and a ceramic fragment (pl. I/15) belong to the Vučedol culture. This finding is considered to be the easternmost presence of the Vučedol culture on the Danube river valley. Most of the findings presented in this area are recorded from Moldova Veche and the Eastern discoveries mentioned at Ostrovul Corbului. The Kostolac findings reported in the entire Oltenia region and near the Iron Gates area and also the Vučedol findings, would help us to tinting the discoveries in Coţofeni culture.
