Doctorul Mihail Burada. Mărturii documentare din colecţiile Muzeului de Istorie Roman

  • Subiect: The medical care given to the inhabitants of Roman city evolved at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, partly institutionally, partly due to the number and quality of the educations of the doctors who practiced here. Among the personalities in the domain we include Doctor Mihail Burada (1842 - 1918). The reconstitution of his life and activity was possible due to the recent donation made by the Society of History of Medicine and Pharmacy of Roman to the town’s History Museum, containing mainly medicine related items gathered during six decades by Dr. Epifanie Cozărescu. Based on the documents within this collection we were able to track the professional path of Dr. Mihail Burada, his involvement in public life, in the cultural activity of Roman (mainly as president of the „Miron Costin” Cultural Society). The complexity of his preoccupations made him known in his time, among the other personalities of the town.
